A new chapter in the evolution of digital ownership is being written — and The Root Network is proud to be part of the story.
Futureverse has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PIP Labs, the initial core contributor to Story, a Layer 1 blockchain designed to tokenize and program intellectual property into dynamic digital assets. This collaboration brings Futureverse’s expansive IP portfolio — including blockbuster franchises like Ready Player One — into the Story ecosystem, unlocking new ways for creators and brands to register, manage, and commercialize their work on-chain.
As part of this partnership, The Root Network will work alongside Story and Futureverse’s broader tech stack — including Pass, Futureverse’s native smart wallet — to support seamless onboarding and connected digital ownership across applications, platforms, and experiences.
“On-chain IP represents a transformative shift in how digital assets are owned, monetized, traded, and evolved,” said Jason Zhao, Chief Protocol Officer at PIP Labs. “By partnering with Futureverse, we are taking a major step toward building a more open and programmable ecosystem where creators and brands have greater control over their IP.”
This marks another step toward Futureverse and The Root Network’s shared vision of an open, user-owned, and interoperable metaverse. With deep expertise across AI, immersive storytelling, and digital infrastructure, Futureverse continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
“We’re excited about collaborating with Story to enhance the value of tokenized IP and create greater interoperability within the web3 ecosystem,” said the Futureverse team. “Digital property rights are the core innovation of blockchain technology — and by working together, we can demonstrate that ownership is meaningful through enhanced interoperability.”
The Root Network is built to make this possible: enabling interoperability and asset ownership across open metaverse ecosystems. Futureverse’s infrastructure — including its user-first tools like Pass — will help scale and grow the Story ecosystem, while The Root Network connects IP, users, and applications across both networks.
At its core, this collaboration tackles one of the most pressing challenges in digital IP: making ownership programmable, enforceable, and usable across platforms. Together, Futureverse and PIP Labs are laying the foundation for a more open, creator-centric web3 economy — where IP isn’t just data, but an evolving, interactive asset.
From gaming and generative AI to immersive metaverse platforms like The Readyverse, this partnership sets the stage for a more connected and composable future. Whether you’re a creator, builder, or collector, what’s coming next will reshape how IP lives on-chain.
At The Root Network, we’re proud to provide the foundational infrastructure powering these next-generation experiences — where assets move freely, ownership is provable, and creativity has no limits.
